We live in a time when addictions are more common than ever. From smartphones, apps of all kinds, video gaming, social networking, overspending, alcohol and drugs (legal and illegal drugs such as prescription medications), and food, one’s addiction is just a symptom of something else. The maladaptive behaviors listed above are typically reactions to root issues such as trauma, abuse, grief, loneliness/isolation, lack of meaning, depression, anxiety disorders and anger.
Through working through these issues, one can heal and transition into a more meaningful and rewarding life. Belina works from an eclectic approach, pulling therapies from varied frameworks such as cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. Personalized treatment plans would be created with you, the client, to support and coach you through positive change. Ultimately, each client is unique, therefore the approach needs to be as well.
